Robin and Dave have played in several bands together including Azalea City Penis Club (Dreamboat) and Gravenhurst (Warp). They also made up The Allender Band, along with Alex Wilkins, Sam Tarbuck and Sean Talbot. The Allender Band released an EP and an album on Dreamboat, tracks from which were played on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music by Mark Radcliffe, Gideon Coe and Steve Lamacq, who also interviewed the band on his show.
In early 2009 Robin and Dave were asked to join the touring band of renowned composer and musician Yann Tiersen. Although this put the Allender Band on hiatus, Robin and Dave decided to work on a studio-based project in breaks from touring. Conceiving the album as a chance to experiment in their home-studio, the duo set about constructing a lush, expansive and layered sound that builds upon the delicate, folk-influenced dream pop of the Allender Band.
The self-titled album was released on 27 September, 2010 and you can download it for free on Bandcamp.
