Liner notes

Three-Cornered Moon

Veteran Dreamboat artist Robin Allender begins 2010 with a new act, Three-Cornered Moon, a shimmering partnership with drummer Dave Collingwood that developed while the two were touring with Yann Tiersen. ‘The Applauding Rain’ is a track from the band’s debut album, due in Autumn.

Bear In Heaven

Bear in Heaven’s Beast Rest Forth Mouth was released in the US by Hometapes in October 2009, triggering an avalanche of critical acclaim, including Pitchfork’s coveted Best New Music award. Hometapes in association with Dreamboat Records are now set to follow up that success with a spring UK/Europe release.

Tilted City

Led by Nathan Daniel, avant-pop four-piece Tilted City formed in 2008. Their debut album, Cheek Denied, has an impressive production team made up of Massive Attack co-writer Dan Brown and Scissor Sisters keyboardist John Garden. Out on Dreamboat Records in the Autumn.

This Is The Kit

Originally from Bristol and now based in Paris, Kate Staples, with accompaniment from Jesse D. Vernon, is This is the Kit. Quite simply, Kate’s voice is to die for.
Following their Sunday Best Records 7′′ they join Dreamboat to release a long-awaited new album in Summer 2010.

John Parish — She, A Chinese Soundtrack

The third in the Dreamboat series of soundtracks to independent films, Xialolu Guo’s festival hit She, A Chinese features an original score by songwriter and composer John Parish (perhaps best known as P.J. Harvey’s producer). His unmistakable musical signature runs throughout, fragile and powerful. His compositions sit delicately alongside Chinese punk rock and an early album track by Fiest. Dreamboat Records releases the soundtrack in spring

The Allender Band

We’ve included ‘Riverrun’, The Allender Band’s radio favourite of 2009 because if you haven’t heard it yet you should take the time to do so and if you have, then you won’t mind hearing it again.

The Rollercoaster Project

The electronic drone hero follows up his Absolutely Kosher released album Revenge with a lush new record, out on Dreamboat in late spring.

Whalebone Polly

Taken from Whalebone Polly’s 2009 4 track E.P. The Turnip Turned is a perfect example of the rich harmonious songs this duo create together. The lush finger-picked guitar and banjo arrangements, with dustings of brass and percussion, give a warm feeling of Arthur Russell meets the Mcgarrigle sisters.
