Adam Buxton’s Bristol appearance cancelled :-(

Adam and Joe's Song Wars

Dreamboat Records is very sorry to announce that due to filming commitments Adam Buxton will no longer be able to appear at our event at Start The Bus on Sunday 12 December. Instead we will be celebrating the release of Adam and Joe’s Song Wars Volume 2 with an exclusive listening party and a quiz hosted by Adam via the magic of video, with signed A&J prizes for the winners. BBC 6 Music favourites, This Is The Kit will still be travelling over from Paris to perform with an extra special line up, and there will be Dreamboat DJs as well.

The evening will still be smashing fun, but if you are inconsolable, we are more than happy to offer a refund or for your ticket to be used for any other of our events on the 10th/13th/14th/15th of December. Adam is also very very sorry, and has said he will come to Bristol in the new year to make it up to you all! So stay tuned…

The 2010 Dreamboat Christmas Party!

Every year Dreamboat Records has had a small Christmas party. This year we thought we’d change things and have a BIG Christmas party. We have teamed up with 24/7 magazine and Rise Independent Record store and put together a collection of our favourite acts and DJs like This Is The Kit, Gravenhurst, Adam Buxton, The Rollercoaster Project, Colorama and many more — all to play over a week at Bristol’s Start The Bus venue.

We will have a our merch table there all week, with records, new t-shirts and plenty of Dreamboaty treats. On top of that all week the Bristol illustration collective Inkygoodness will be displaying work inspired by the theme Dreamboat created by 28 artists from across Europe. Buy tickets at Bristol Ticket Shop, on the door (cheaper by 50p), or you can win a week’s pass with 24/7 magazine. We’ll see you there!

Adam & Joe’s Song Wars 2 now available on pre-order

Adam and Joe's Song Wars

Today marks the beginning of something wonderful. The long-awaited Song Wars Volume 2 by Adam & Joe is now available for pre-order on CD and LP direct from Dreamboat. It’s a jam packed 22 track compilation featuring songs by Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish, taken from their award winning Saturday morning BBC 6 Music radio show.

The vinyl LP comes in a lush gatefold sleeve and the CD on a 6-panel digipack, both giving plenty of room for Adam and Joe’s handmade artwork, new photographs and the nonsense we have come to expect from the pair.

The official release date is 6 December but pre-order direct from Dreamboat and receive the album on 3 December or before. There is also a chance to catch Adam perform at the Dreamboat Christmas party alongside This is the Kit — check back for details later this week.

This is the Kit on tour

This is the Kit’s new record Wriggle Out The Restless is proving to be a runaway success, with almost constant play on BBC 6 music, a first solo tour in October and now a second tour with a four-piece band.

The Dreamboat Party show on 12 Dec will be special, with the stage packed with an expanded band, and of course support comes with an hour set from Adam Buxton. More details about the Dreamboat Party next week!

Adam & Joe’s Song Wars Volume 2!

We are very pleased to announce we will be releasing Adam and Joe’s Song Wars Volume 2 on gatefold vinyl, CD and download. The 22 track compilation features songs by Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish taken from their award winning Saturday morning BBC 6 Music radio show. Following the success of a digital-only Volume 1 we thought it was high time that the unreleased masterpieces were made available as not only something to listen to, but as something to hold and cherish.

The 12″ vinyl LP comes in a lush gatefold sleeve and the CD on a 6-panel digipack, both giving plenty of room for the Adam and Joe’s handmade artwork, new photographs and patented nonsense.

Pre-order will begin in mid-November. To be the first to hear more, sign up to the mailing list and we keep you posted.
