The Inconsolable tours Romania

The Inconsolable at The Phoenix, Oxford

This weekend The Inconsolable hits Bucharest with his fists of folk.

On Saturday he’ll play at “Death Disco”, Bucharest’s most absurd club. Entry is 8 New Lei, which is about £1.50. On Sunday he’ll play at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (M.N.A.C.). Apparently this is the second-biggest building in the world, so you should be alright for a seat. Times and locations are here.

Azalea City Penis Club — Old Faithful

Old Faithful, Yellowstone Park

Azalea City Penis Club are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album, which will be out before the vernal equinox of 2006. They will be touring the UK around the time of its release, bringing with them their baffling blend of hulking stoner riffs, shoegaze racket and college rock tunesmithery.

But, since it’s so bloody cold in the UK (and at Old Faithful) right now, we’ve got another preview track to warm your iPod’s cockles and get you through a long, Penis-free winter.

  • Old Faithful (Sorry! No longer available!)

In the words of Simon Grant, “clocking in at just under 6 minutes, she’s mean, she’s monstrous, and she’ll beat you to the bar mitzvah”. We have no idea what this means, but she certainly offers good times.

The Inconsolable and The Rollercoaster Project both have shows in the next couple of weeks. You should totally attend them.

And for our American cousins, you can catch Dave Collingwood from ACPC playing drums for his other band, Gravenhurst, on their U.S. tour with Broadcast. If you see him, tell him we say “hi”.
