Allender and Rollercoaster gigs

The Inconsolable at The Phoenix, Oxford

The next fortnight or sees a gentle flurry of gigs from Robin Allender and the Rollercoaster Project. As always, keep an eye on the live page and subscribe to the mailing list for the latest details.

I particularly recommend the Folk House Fundraiser on Easter Monday. As the (resurrected) Choke says, “what better way to celebrate the anniversary of Christ’s resurrection?”

On Wednesday, 22nd February Robin Allender will be playing with Snakes on a Plane, Rose Kemp and My Own Flag at Club Choke at The Croft in Bristol.

On Sunday, 12th March he will join François & the Atlas Mountain Ensemble, Steveless, The Taxidermist, Dexter Bentley, and Loxodonta for a totally acoustic show (no electricity or anything) at Café Delight in Bristol.

Azalea City Penis Club will be supporting Geisha at their album launch on Saturday, 22nd April. Details to follow. Meanwhile take a look at the brand new Azalea City Penis Club website. It has MP3s and videos, most of which can be found nowhere else. Not even on Soulseek.

This just in: The Inconsolable will be playing in the bar at the Phoenix Cinema this Friday, 18th November. This gig is free. As was mentioned a couple of weeks ago, The Rollercoaster Project will be playing in Leeds this Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets are available from Jumbo.

The Inconsolable and The Rollercoaster Project both have shows in the next couple of weeks. You should totally attend them.

And for our American cousins, you can catch Dave Collingwood from ACPC playing drums for his other band, Gravenhurst, on their U.S. tour with Broadcast. If you see him, tell him we say “hi”.

More Rollercoaster Project songs available to download

The Rollercoaster Project

Back in September, when the days were longer than the nights, Dreamboat Records released The Rollercoaster Project’s debut album Hatefield.

You can download three-eighths of Hatefield or you can buy the album for £5. But—as if that wasn’t enough—The Rollercoaster Project has made available two more MP3s to play on your walking music device.

The first is “Drone 1”, which is taken from a forthcoming E.P. This E.P. is a long way off, but we thought this track is so fantastic we couldn’t wait to share it with you. Run, don’t walk, to the download.

The second is a remix of Cat Power’s “Peking Saint”. Cat Power is great, and so is the original version of this song. We humbly submit the Rollercoaster Project remix for your aural analysis.
